Respite care provides temporary relief for caregivers and family members caring for people with disabilities or special needs. Respite care can also be employed to allow for recovery after a surgery or hospital stay. That’s where Legacy Ranch can help.
Caring for a loved one in the home can be a very rewarding experience but it can also be an overwhelming undertaking. It is essential that family members get sufficient and regular support as well as respite time.
Jennifer’s priorities, as she leads our community as Executive Director, are the two C’s – Care for our residents and Communication for their families. She saw what it means to care for seniors at the young age of 4, when she would go to work with her grandmother in a group home. And while pursuing her degree in Health Care Administration, Jennifer worked part-time in a nursing home. “I know I’m doing what God made me to do.” She also feels a responsibility to keep families updated and learn how we can best care for them.
Jennifer loves to love on seniors, even spending time driving our transport van to get to know our residents on the way to appointments or shopping. The gratitude and smiles they express give her encouragement every time. Jennifer has been married for 14 years and has two daughters that keep her busy.
As our Resident Care Director, Kimberly oversees our care staff and aims to bring joy and comfort to each resident in our community. She knows the challenges that families face when a loved one needs additional care – she loved and cared for a grandparent with Alzheimer’s and it inspired her to help others navigating the same path. Kimberly became a licensed nurse a decade ago and has been working with seniors ever since. Sometimes their needs are simple, like having someone to talk to or enjoy a Coke with, and sometimes their needs are more complex. Whatever the case may be, Legacy Ranch is a safe and secure place for them to thrive. Kimberly and her husband have three daughters and love to travel and explore.
Sylvia is our go-to for all questions related to billing and administration, handling a variety of tasks as our Office Manager. She has worked in the oil & gas industry and as a Community Resource Specialist. Legacy Ranch is her first experience working in health care, and she is enjoying the unique and rewarding challenge of caring for seniors. In her spare time she enjoys games like Dominos and Spades, and HGTV. She celebrates 34 years of marriage and has two adult children and three grandchildren.
Janie oversees one of the standout features of our community – the restaurant style dining experience! Her creativity and work ethic are on display every day as our staff prepares delicious entrées and mouth-watering desserts. Janie has worked in food service since the mid-90s and has multiple Texas Food Safety Manager Certifications. She enjoys the family atmosphere of senior living, where she’s spent most of her career. She also stays busy creating her own line of snacks and drinks, and spending time with her six children and 22 grandchildren!
As our Facilities Director, Lucinda oversees maintenance projects, housekeeping and overall safety at Legacy Ranch. It’s a rewarding job, because Lucinda can see that it makes a difference in the lives of our residents. She’s been serving seniors more than three decades, becoming a caregiver in 1987 and eventually earning certifications in Fire Safety, Workplace Security, Emergency Preparedness, HVAC training, and even Nutrition and Food Service. She loves to encourage residents and staff alike, ensuring our community and property are the best they can be. She’s been married for 37 years to her best friend Charlie.
